Fatores associados à prevalência ao excesso de peso corporal em técnicos de enfermagem que atuam em turnos

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar los factores asociados al exceso de peso corporal en profesionales de enfermería que trabajan en turnos y estimar su prevalencia. Se trató de un estudio transversal, analítico y cuantitativo, realizado entre marzo y mayo de 2022 en el Hospital Municipal Universitario de Rio Verde, Goiás. Participaron 198 técnicos de enfermería, de 18 a 60 años, que trabajaban en distintos turnos. El exceso de peso se evaluó mediante el índice de masa corporal (IMC), calculado a partir de mediciones de peso y altura. También se recolectaron datos demográficos, socioeconómicos, nutricionales, conductuales, profesionales, de salud mental y del sueño. Se aplicaron análisis de regresión logística bivariada y multivariada. Se identificó una prevalencia de exceso de peso del 53,5%, siendo el 36,7% con sobrepeso y el 16,8% con obesidad. Los factores asociados incluyeron la ausencia de pareja (OR = 2,66; p = 0,012), escolaridad inferior a 15 años (OR = 3,21; p = 0,006), mayor tiempo de profesión (OR = 1,08; p = 0,005) y consumo de comida rápida (OR = 3,72; p = 0,003). Además, el estrés (OR = 2,34; p = 0,050) y la ansiedad (OR = 2,03; p = 0,045) también se asociaron significativamente al exceso de peso. El estudio evidenció una alta prevalencia de exceso de peso entre profesionales de enfermería en turnos, lo que indica la necesidad de estrategias institucionales de promoción de la salud para prevenir y controlar el sobrepeso y la obesidad en este grupo.
