Objectives: To evaluate the impact of urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction on the quality of life of men after radical prostatectomy. Methods: a blinded cross-sectional clinical study consisted of 16 men with a mean age of 64.6±8.6 years after prostatectomy due to prostate cancer. Information regarding sociodemographic data and the King's Health Questionnaire (KHQ), Incontinence Severity Index (ISI-Q) and International Erectile Function Index (IIFE) questionnaires were obtained. Statistical analysis was performed by descriptive analysis and Pearson's correlation. Results: sociodemographic data showed a prevalence of mixed urinary incontinence (75%), followed by stress urinary incontinence (25%). Data from the KHQ questionnaire showed significant values with a strong correlation between the impact of urinary incontinence and function limitations (r=0.76), social limitations (r=0.75) and personal relationships (r=0.80); function limitations in relation to physical limitations (r=0.75), social limitations (r=0.84) and personal relationships (r=0.80); social limitations and personal relationships (r=0.91) and the symptom severity scale (r=0.74); emotions and the severity scale of symptoms (r=0.71). Regarding the ISI-Q score, 68.7% were classified as moderate severity and 18.8% as severe. The IIFE score showed that 86.5% were classified as severe severity of erectile dysfunction after prostatectomy. Conclusion: there is strong evidence that prostatectomy generates severe urinary incontinence and sexual impotence, which negatively affect the quality of life of men, with a series of changes related to their physical-functional, psychological, sexual and social well-being.
