General Rules for Publication

Guidelines for Article Submission

Articles and reviews submitted to the Univap Journal, through the website http://revista.univap.br, must adhere to the following criteria.

In the file (with .DOCx or .RTF extension) to be submitted to the Univap Journal (Step 2 – Manuscript Transfer), the name(s) of the author(s) must not appear, to ensure the integrity of the evaluation in the double-blind peer review system (the author does not know who the reviewer is, and the reviewer does not know who the author is).

In the submission metadata (Univap Journal platform), the complete data of the author(s) must be provided - Name, academic degree, workplace, full postal address, role(s) performed, email, and ORCID must be filled out in the article submission (Step 3 – Metadata Inclusion). Submissions without the complete metadata of the author(s) will be archived.

For illustrations (photographs, maps, graphs, tables, flowcharts, organizational charts, diagrams, sketches, among others), it is necessary that, in addition to being included in the body of the article, the original files are also sent separately in digital form (Step 4 – Supplementary Documents Transfer). Scanned images must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Illustrations and tables must be numbered according to their respective references in the body of the text, and the titles should be written without abbreviations, including the source reference in size 11 and single line spacing. All tables and illustrations must indicate the source of the data. Avoid using words like “below,” “above” to refer to tables and illustrations. For example: as shown in Table 5; according to Graph 2.

BASIC GUIDELINES FOR ARTICLE PREPARATION

  1. Page Layout:

Articles should be written in A4 format, with left and top margins of 3 cm and right and bottom margins of 2 cm.

Indentation and Spacing:

Titles (headings) should have no indentation ("0 cm").

Other paragraphs should have a 1 cm indentation (Single line spacing), Arial font, size 12, except for illustrations, tables, footnotes, and block quotes, which should use font size 11. Paragraph entry is 1.00 cm from the margin. The text should be justified.

Limits/Restrictions regarding the number of pages, figures, and references:

Best practice opportunities are provided, making the number of words, figures, and references in the articles more flexible. Special calls or thematic dossiers may receive special recommendations.

  1. Elements:

2.1 Pre-textual

a) Title and subtitle (if any): must appear on the opening page of the text, separated by a colon and in the language of the text.

b) Title and subtitle (if any) in a foreign language.

c) Abstract in the language of the text: The abstract must be prepared according to the NBR 6028:2003 guidelines. It should be written in the third person singular, in active voice, and in a single paragraph, with a length of 100 to 250 words in Arial, font size 12.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

a) The article must be unpublished (and not under review for publication by another journal), following the journal's editorial line. It will be submitted to the editorial board for review, with the author's and reviewers' identities omitted during the double-blind review process (the author does not know who the reviewer is, and the reviewer does not know who the author is). After the review process, if necessary, reviewers will suggest changes to improve the work for publication. If the changes are too numerous, the reviewers may reject the article with a well-founded explanation. The originals will not be returned.

b) Multiple submissions or redundant publications are not accepted.
Revista Univap does not accept multiple submissions or redundant publications. Multiple submissions occur when the same manuscript is submitted simultaneously to more than one journal, a practice considered unethical and one that compromises the transparency of the editorial process.

Redundant publications refer to works that replicate, in whole or in part, content already published by the same author(s) without a relevant academic justification. This practice violates the originality principles required for scientific publication and may result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript or other editorial sanctions.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and must inform the editorial team of any potential overlap with previous publications.

c) In exceptional cases, literature reviews will be accepted. The Scientific Committee will decide on the evaluation process.

d) Any work involving human beings or animals, directly or indirectly, must present the respective approval protocol from the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). Works without the approval protocol number will be archived.

e) The work of authors and reviewers will not be remunerated.
